Thermography Scans in Atlanta, GA

What Is Thermography?
Thermography — also called digital infrared thermal imaging, or DITI — is a non-invasive screening method that uses an infrared camera to record heat patterns on the surface of the body. The resulting image is called a thermogram.
Your body radiates heat constantly, and that heat is not evenly distributed. Circulation, inflammation and nerve activity all influence surface temperature, and a healthy body tends to be thermally symmetrical: the left side broadly mirrors the right. A thermal imaging scan captures those patterns and highlights asymmetries and areas of unusual heat that may warrant a closer look.
Nothing touches you. There is no radiation, no compression, and no injection of dye or contrast. You simply stand a short distance from the camera while a series of images is captured.
What Happens During a Scan
You will complete a short health questionnaire covering your symptoms, history and any areas of concern. You will then be asked to undress to the waist, or fully, depending on the type of scan, and to allow your skin a few minutes to adjust to room temperature — this step matters, because it lets the underlying patterns become visible.
The imaging itself takes a matter of minutes. A full body thermography session usually runs 45 minutes to an hour including preparation; a breast or upper body scan is shorter.
Your images are then interpreted by a qualified physician, and you receive a written report with both colour heat-pattern images and inverse grayscale vascular images, along with the doctor’s findings. A follow-up consultation is included so you can go through the results with someone who can explain them.
What Thermography Is Used For
Thermal imaging is used as an adjunctive screening tool — meaning it works alongside other tests rather than replacing them. Common reasons people book a scan:
- Breast and chest screening, including for those with dense tissue or implants
- Establishing a personal baseline to compare future scans against
- Monitoring areas of ongoing inflammation
- Looking at circulation and vascular patterns
- Assessing thyroid and lymphatic regions
- Tracking change over time, including response to treatment
- Screening without radiation exposure, where repeated imaging is wanted
- A whole-body overview for those taking a preventative approach to health
Why People Choose It
- No radiation
- No compression or contact
- Painless
- Suitable for all ages and body types
- Suitable where dense tissue makes other imaging harder to read
- Safe to repeat as often as needed
